National Service scheme(NSS)
The National Service scheme is an Indian Government sector. It is one of the most valuable public sector program conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and sports of the Government of India. The scheme was launched by Union Educational Minister V.K.R.V.Rao at 37 Universities in all states in our country in year on 24th September 1969during the birth centenary year of Mahatma Gandhi. It aimed at developing student’s personality through community service. It is a voluntary association of young people in colleges, Universities and at +2 level working for a campus community. NSS is an extension dimension to the higher education system to orient the student youth to community service while they are studying in educational institutions.
Today NSS has about 3.86 million students youth enrolled in 41,442 NSS Units spread over through 396 Universities/ +2 councils,16,331 Colleges/ Technical Institutions and 28,621 Senior Secondary Schools across the country.
NSS-VCDC
National Service Scheme (NSS) is a body for social service affiliated to Bangalore University. NSS Unit at Vishwa Chethana Degree College aims at involvement of students on voluntary basis in various activities of social service. There are 100 Volunteers enrolled in NSS Unit. Various programmes are implemented through Regular Activities and seven days Special camp. The NSS is the part of our academic, social and personal life as it is the third dimension of education. It allows the youth to actively contribute their service for the cause of community and the nation, thus helping them to develop their personality.
Aims and Objectives
NSS aims to understand the community in which they work. It motivates the students to acquire the leadership qualities and democratic attitude. It help students to develop themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility. It utilize their knowledge in finding practical solution to individual and community problem. It also identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem solving process

NSS Special Camp
NSS unit of Vishwa Chethana Degree College Organized a special Camp in Sabmangala Village, Gandhi Nagara , Anekal(TK) from 26/102019 – 01/11-2019. The Volunteers of the NSS unit Performed many other activites - awareness programmers as literacy, tree planation, health and hygience and Commmunual harmony etc.
